As September unfolds, so does National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month – a time dedicated to addressing the challenging and crucial issue of suicide. At P23 Labs, we understand the significance of raising awareness about this matter, and we are committed to making a meaningful impact.

As part of our Be Giving campaign, this month, we proudly supported The American Association of Suicidology (AAS), the world’s largest and the nation’s oldest membership-based suicide prevention organization.

Founded in 1968 by Edwin S. Shneidman, PhD, AAS has been at the forefront of suicide prevention efforts for over five decades. Their mission encompasses promoting research on suicide and its prevention, conducting public awareness programs, providing education and training for professionals and volunteers, and offering vital resources to those in need.

This makes them an invaluable ally in the fight against suicide.

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month serves as a crucial reminder that suicide prevention is a year-round commitment.

This dedicated month allows us to come together as a community, providing support and resources for those in crisis and their loved ones. It also serves as a platform to equip communities with tools and education, fund research and innovation, engage in policy work, and foster thought leadership with passion and intent.

“Sometimes, even the tiniest gesture of help can hold great significance. Never underestimate the impact you can make on other people’s lives,” said P23 Labs’ CEO and Founder, Dr. Tiffany Montgomery.

National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month is a time for reflection, action, and unity. At P23 Labs, we are honored to stand with The American Association of Suicidology and other organizations dedicated to suicide prevention. Together, we can make a real impact and continue to work towards a world where every life is valued and protected. Let us all join hands to bring light into the lives of those in need.
